from: Take These Herbal Hemorrhoids Medicines And Call Me In The Morning

There are worse things in life, but when you have hemorrhoids (piles), its hard to think of any. Although some people are perfectly fine treating themselves with over the counter creams, some arent. Some people want a more natural solution with less chance of side effects from manufactured creams. They also dont want the hemorrhoids to ever return. This is why traditional Chinese herbal hemorrhoids medicines are popular.

Causes Of Piles

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been used as far back as the third century BCE. It is a holistic approach to healing combining a good diet, healthy exercise, acupuncture when necessary and herbal healing. According to TCM, there are five reasons why a person gets hemorrhoids. Herbal hemorrhoids medicines are then given once the cause has been diagnosed. The causes are:

Intestinal wind, which is when there is rectal bleeding, but hardly any pain.
Dry intestine, which is another way of saying chronic constipation.
Too much damp heat, which causes the swelling and pain of hemorrhoids.
Spleen deficiency, which is especially dangerous because the patient might eventually experience a prolapsed hemorrhoid.
Blood stasis, which is another way of saying blood circulation problems, such as a risk of blood clots.

Treatment

It is not recommended to fool around with herbal hemorrhoids medicines on your own. You really need the help of a trained doctor in TCM. Although herbs are from nature, they are still medicines and need to be treated with respect. The herbs used are safe, but occasionally they cause allergic reactions or clash with prescription medicines. When you go to see a TCM practitioner, you need to tell them about all of the medicines, herbs and vitamin supplements you are taking.

The herbal hemorrhoid medicines are usually given as pills, ground powders to mix in water or in topical ointments for you to apply. Be sure to follow the directions carefully. You might need several visits to the TCM practitioner before you are cured. Check with your health insurance to see who gets to foot the bills.

How To Find A TCM Practitioner

You can ask your regular doctor for a referral to a qualified TCM practitioner in your area. You can also check with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), through writing or through their website. A licensed practitioner doesnt have to be of Oriental descent in order to become licensed and distribute herbal hemorrhoids medicine.
